Ruby Jones Galloway

Ruby Pearl Jones Galloway, 99, of Idabel, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Idabel. She was born November 20, 1907 in Alma, Arkansas, the daughter of David and Martha Drusilla Young Porton. Ruby was a homemaker, as well as working on the family farm and ranch. She enjoyed fishing, and was affiliated with the Grace Assembly Church in Idabel. Ruby was a longtime resident of McCurtain County, moving here at the age of four in a covered wagon. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ernest Jones, and John D. Galloway; a son, Andrew Jones; a daughter, Faye Henthorn; sisters, Josie Henthorn and Katie Campbell; and her brothers, John Porton, Harve Porton, Marvin Baldwin, and Dock Baldwin. Ruby is survived by a son and daughters-in-law, Dock and Ella Nora Jones, and Jean Jones all of Idabel; grandchildren, Dr. Wayne Jones of Durant, Renee' Haynes and husband Ken, Donna Berg and husband Todd, Johnnie Jones and wife Sandy, Andrea Wright and husband Bob, and Sharon Lumsden all of Idabel, and Jimmy Henthorn of Kingston; step-children, Calvin and Eva Jean Galloway of Tom, Kenneth and Mamie Galloway, Carlene and Rosa Lee all of Ashdown, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Wanda Porton of Idabel; special friends, Hazel and John Sullivan, Mary Jo and George Posey, Verna and Eddie Vann, and Darlene Ridge; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
