Verne Allen Parsons

Verne Parsons Jr., age 78, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Tulsa, Ok. He was born May 26, 1941 in Pennsylvania, the son of Verne Parsons Sr. and Jane Parsons. He married his wife Betty on March 23, 1962 in Bloomington, CA. They have lived in Idabel since 1979 moving from California.
Verne owned and operated McCurtain Appliance for 26 years. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing.
A devoted family man he loved spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. 
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Verne is survived by his wife, Betty Parsons of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike Parsons of Idabel, OK, Kevin and Stacey Parsons of Broken Bow, OK and Scott and Becky Parsons of Idabel, OK; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Charlie Carter of Valliant, OK; sisters and brother-in-law, Robin and Mike Glenn of Virginia and Karen Little of California; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Denison Cemetery in Idabel, OK with Bro. David Flannery officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the funeral home.
