AD Friend

Abner Dewey “AD” Friend, Jr., age 84 of America passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Memorial Heights Nursing Home in Idabel, OK. He was born on August 17, 1941, the son of Abner Dewey and Lucy (Dollar) Friend.

AD was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting. He was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County and attended the Moon Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Lucy (Dollar) Friend; wife, Lois Mae (Bates) Friend; daughter, Jennifer Laurie Friend; three brothers and six sisters.

AD left to cherish his memory, his special niece, Glenda Friend Rankin of Idabel, OK, nephew, Calvin Friend of Haworth, OK; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the White Family Funeral Chapel with Calvin Friend officiating. Interment will follow at Tom Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the funeral home.
