Alan Clampet, age 67 of Haworth, OK passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Texarkana, TX. He was born December 4, 1955 in Idabel, OK, the son of Larnel and Barbara Clampet. Alan was a 1974 graduate of Haworth High School. He married his wife, Sherry on August 12, 1977 in the Cisco Community, OK.
Alan worked as a home builder and custom cabinet maker for most of his life. Some of his best memories were made at deer camp and in his outdoor kitchen with close family and friends. He also enjoyed his afternoon ranger rides to check the cows with his wife of 45 years, Sherry (better known as Mimi).
He was most widely known as the world’s best pappy, fiddle champion of willow springs, and his knack for hunting arrowheads.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David Clampet; a sister, Linda Allen; his father-in-law, Harrel Thompson and brother-in-law, Ken Lee.
Alan is survived by his wife, Sherry Clampet of the home; his children, Jason and Leslie Cunningham of Stratford, OK, Rebecca Bartlett of Norman, OK and Clint and Kimberly Clampet of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Jace, Cohen and Nolan Cunningham, Camden and Bryson Bartlett and John and Lily Clampet; a sister, Karen Ireland of Stillwater, OK; his mother-in-law, Pat Thompson of the Harris Community, OK; brothers-in-law, Chip and Kelley Thompson, Rance and Tracy Thompson; sister-in-law, Angie Lee; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at the funeral home..
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Haworth Assembly of God Church with Aubrey Thompson and Mark Davidson officiating. Interment will follow at the Pollard Cemetery.
