Albert Earl McGowen

 Albert Earl McGowen, age 79 of Garvin, OK passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Idabel, OK. He was born on July 1, 1942 in the Harris Community, OK, the son of Bud and Gladys McGowen. Albert married his wife Sue on August 13, 1974 in Clarksville, TX.

            Albert was a veteran of the US Army and served in Vietnam. He retired from Weyhaeuser Paper Mill in 2006 after 25 years. He enjoyed ceramics and working his cattle. Albert was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Kenneth "Red" McGowen.

           Albert is survived by his wife, Sue McGowen of the home; sons, Steve McGowen and Robin of Garvin, OK and Ray McGowen and Ann of Alabama; a daughter, Laura Wimberly and William of Locust Grove, OK; sister, Bobbie Tidwell and Jerry of Norman, OK; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
           

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Forest Hill Cemetery in the Forest Grove Community, OK with Aubrey Thompson officiating.
