Allene (Hosey) Shelton

Allene Shelton, age 89, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at her home in the Redland Community, OK. She was born July 17, 1934, in Paris, AR, the daughter of William and Alice Bullock Hosey. Allene married EE Shelton on February 13, 1954, and he preceded her in death in 2009. 
 
Allene was a homemaker and along with her husband, owned and operated the Redland Store from 1965 to 1994. She enjoyed quilting and was one of the longtime caretakers of the Redland Cemetery. Allene was a devoted member of the Redland Church of Christ. She had lived in the Redland Community since 1938 with the exception of the years 1952-1965 where she spent her young adult years in Texas. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, EE Shelton; a son, Eugene Shelton; and a brother, Raymond Hosey and his wife, Barbara.

Allene leaves to cherish her memory her children, Cindy Stout and Rick of Edmond, OK, Scott Shelton of Ada, OK, Van and Jill Shelton of Canyon, TX, Stan "Monte" and Dawn Shelton of Luther, OK, Tyson and Melodie Shelton of Ada, OK; brother, JW and Charlene Hosey of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Josh Shelton, Lauren Shelton, Cassy Lawson, Chandy Rice, Chaney Stout, Shannon Pond, Katina Wright, Heather Hill, Chloe Shelton, Sophie Shelton, Giles Shelton, Lydia Shelton, Grant Shelton, Isaac Shelton, Quinn Shelton, Jeff Coberley, Cassie Coberley and Landon Coberley; 17 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Redland Church of Christ with Michael Cox officiating. Interment will follow at the Redland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 25, 2024 at the funeral home.
