Anita “Gail” (Goad) Kelly passed away peacefully, May 13, 2024, in Norman, Oklahoma. Gail was born in Haworth, Oklahoma December 17, 1936 to Myrl and Nettye Goad. Gail married her high school sweetheart, Eual Kelly, and to this union came Karen and Mike.
After a 2 year military stay in Germany and moves around the Midwest for Eual’s job with the National Weather Service, they settled in Limon, Colorado from 1970 to 1977, letting Karen and Mike finish high school (she always loved being a stay-at-home mom, supporting/chasing the kids to all their events).
After the kids were grown, they transferred to Texas for a time and then were transferred back to Norman. She then tried her hand in the private sector and worked many years at the J.C. Penney store in Norman.
After retirement, they returned to their “old stomping ground”, Idabel, Oklahoma, where their family and many childhood friends still lived. However, after 25+ wonderful years in Idabel, they returned to Norman, Oklahoma.
Gail was proceeded in death by her parents, Myrl & Nettye Goad, her brother Jerry Goad and infant sister Anna Goad.
She is survived by her husband, Eual Kelly of Norman, Oklahoma, daughter Karen Peterson of Norman, Oklahoma, son Mike (Denise) Kelly of Limon, Colorado, grandchildren Thad (Casey) Peterson of Norman, Oklahoma, Jason (Ashleigh) Peterson of Harrah, Oklahoma, Kyle (Rachel) Peterson of Vian, Oklahoma, Tiffani Kelly of Norman, Oklahoma, David (Sidney Leighton) Kelly of Loveland, Colorado, 5 fabulous great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Burial will be held at a later date in Idabel, Oklahoma.
