Barbara Jean (Smalling) Jackson

Barbara (Smalling) Jackson, 64 of Idabel passed away at Dallas, TX on April 28, 2022. She was born on August 12, 1957 in Idabel, daughter of Doyle and Mary Smalling of Pickens, OK. She married Bob Jackson on February 22, 1981 in Texarkana, AR.

Barbara loved the Lord and had accepted Him as her Savior. Her favorite song was Alan Jackson’s “I Want to Stroll Across Heaven with You”. She loved her family, her cats and her dogs, especially her beloved rescue pit Sadie, who died 3 days before her. She retired from Wal-Mart after 26 years where she made lasting friendships which she treasured.

Barbara enjoyed gardening especially tending to her rose bushes, going fishing, getting together with family reminiscing, playing cards and board games. She loved watching Westerns and Dr. Pol. She also loved her orange Fanta pop.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Jackson, her parents, Doyle and Mary Smalling; sister, Linda Smalling; nephew, Bryce Smith and brother-in-law, Rusty LeCrone.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Angie Hilton and son-in-law, Chris of Idabel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Tanya Smalling of Holly Creek, Stan and Laura Smalling of DeKalb, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Howard McFerran of Van Buren, AR, Evone and Terry Northrip of Idabel, Darlene and Manuel Welch of Idabel, Gladene Smalling of Redland; nephews, Gavin, Jonathan, Joshua, Evan, Jeremy, Janson, Logan, Dax, Duke, Ja’Vin and McKennan; nieces, Tia, Gabrielle, Caitlin, Gema, Laneleigh, Avianna, Kennedy, Aubrey, Josie, Sarah, Kendra and Starlet; her beloved fur baby, Zoella; granddogs, Zoey and Reggie and a host of family and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3 at White Family Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at White Family Funeral Home Chapel with David Flanary officiating. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.
