Barton Monroe Cannon

Bart Cannon, age 61 of Idabel, OK passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at McAlester, OK. He was born March 14, 1961 in Jacksonville, FL, the son of Roman and Sue Cannon.

Bart moved to the Idabel area in 1973 when his father went to work at the Valliant Paper Mill for Weyerhaeuser and Bart would later work there as well. He enjoyed fishing, riding his lawn mower and was also a very talented pool player. An avid OU fan, he would watch all of their games and cheer on his beloved "Sooners". Bart was a Christian and loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Keith Cannon; and a special friend, Vicky Billy. 

Bart is survived by his daughters, Casey Cannon and Jessica and Andrew McCutcheon all of McAlester, OK; a son, Joshua Hammonds of Idabel, OK; brother, Brandon Cannon of Garvin, OK; a sister, Robin and Bobby Baker of Garvin, OK; grandchildren, Aerin Dillard, Josie Williams, Landry Baker, Avery Barnes, Miklo Rayo and Baker McCutcheon; nieces, Elizabeth Cannon and Lindsey Baker; a nephew, Ryan Cannon; along with several other relatives and many friends. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the funeral home..

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK with Bro. David Flannery officiating. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.
