Benny Frank Frazier, age 76 of Idabel, OK passed away at the Veteran’s Hospital in Muskogee, OK on January 10, 2022.
He was born on September 10, 1945 in Talihina, OK to Cornelius Arthur and Roseanna (Brandy) Frazier.
Benny was preceded in death by a grandson, Xzander Bell of Philadelphia, MS; brothers, Steven, Eli, Jimmy and David Frazier; sisters, Madaline Jessie, Fannie LaSarge, Mary McClure and Anna Stephan.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Vince Ortiz of Dallas, TX, Yolanda and Jeffrey Bell of Philadelphia, MS; grandchildren, Ariana Ortiz of Dallas, TX, Christian Bell, Jarrett Jayroe, Javian Bell, all of Philadelphia, MS; a brother, James “Chun” Frazier of Indiahoma, OK.
Benny loved spending time with his family, from fishing with his granddaughter, Ari, to retelling stories to his numerous nieces and nephews, whom all referred to him fondly as “Uncle Buck”.
Benny graduated from Gray High School, Idabel, OK in 1964 and then attended Haskell Institute in Lawrence, KS where he learned the trade of welding.
Benny served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne from 1966 to 1969, where he achieved the rank of Specialist E-4. Specialist Frazier received the Purple Heart after being wounded, the Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Specialist Frazier saw multiple combats in Vietnam and Germany where he served as a M60 Machine Gunner. As an Airbourne Paratrooper he participated in multiple jumps in Germany.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 pm on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Kulli Tuklo Church. Interment will follow at the Kulli Tuklo Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the funeral home.
