Betty Ruth (Bean) Roberts

Betty Ruth (Bean) Roberts, age 87 passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026 at Durant, OK. Born in Golden, Oklahoma on October 22, 1938, Betty was the daughter of Acie Ross and Luella (Greenwalt) Bean. She married Elmer Lee Roberts on November 17, 1956 beginning a marriage that would last over 66 years until his passing in 2023.

Betty loved her husband and children with a passion. She would do without so that her children could have the necessities of life.  She was a talented seamstress and spent countless hours sewing clothes for her children. Betty lovingly sewed each daughter’s wedding dress and was proud of the many garments she created over the years.

She worked at the local Wal-Mart as a service desk manager for over 15 years. She met many people who recognized what a good, kind and valuable woman she was to her customers and an asset to the company.

Betty taught her children to love and work hard. She always told them that when life gets hard, always remember “This too shall pass” which has also been passed on to her grandchildren who affectionately called her “Nanny”.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her five siblings.

Betty leaves to cherish her memory her children, Helen Lowrance and Bruce of Idabel, OK, Sandra Weaver of Durant, OK and Dennis Roberts and Pam of Durant, OK; grandchildren, Letisha Henderson and Travis, Shauna Bennett and Travis, Kara Doyle and Brian, Bethany Bassett and Derek, Dustin Roberts and Lindsay, Jennifer Roberts and Geoffrey Barndt, Riley Williams and Ryan; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the White Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Watson Memorial Cemetery at Oak Hill.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the funeral home.
