Cheryl Gwen (Jessie) Stephan

            Cheryl Gwen Stephan, age 59 of Idabel, OK passed away on October 5, 2021 in Idabel, OK. She was born on May 5, 1962 in Lawton, OK, to Lillie and Herbert Jessie of Frederick, OK in Tillman County.

            Cheryl was a homemaker, enjoyed traveling, shopping and times at the casinos when possible. She enjoyed watching her favorite OSU College football games and the Dallas Cowboys.

            She served her country proudly in the U.S. Army, after basic training in Ft. Jackson, South Carolina, she spent a tour in Germany, then transferred to Bergstrom AF Base in Texas. Her job title was a tele-type operator.

            After a tour in the military, she attended and graduated from OSU in Stillwater, OK to include the local college in McCurtain County.

            She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother, Douglas, and her husband, Paul (Pee Wee) Stephan, Jr.

           Cheryl leaves to cherish her memory her father, Herbert Jessie of Idabel, OK; brother, Robert Jessie and special friend, Cherie of Winchester, VA; Aunt and Uncle, Eddie and Susie Oliver of Wickes, AR; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends and special friend, John Hampton of Soper, OK.

           She enjoyed her bead work, making the princess crown for the Choctaw Nation, aka, the Choctaw dresses.

           Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Denison Cemetery in Idabel, OK with Bro. Kyle Jordan officiating. Military salute will be done by the Choctaw Nation Honor Guard.
