Clara Lou Ward

Clara Lou Ward, age 85 passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at her home in Idabel, OK. She was born on August 13, 1937 in Tom, OK, the daughter of Charlie and Ethel (Weathers) Chadwick. Clara married Bobby Ward on August 19, 1955 in Idabel, OK.

Clara was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved to cook for her family. She was very kind and had a giving spirit and never expected anything in return. Clara never met a stranger and always had a nice compliment for those she met along the way and left them feeling good.

She was a member of the Church of Christ for many years. Clara lived in McCurtain County most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Ward; sisters, Verna Nutt and Sue Harbert; and a brother, Clarence Chadwick.

Clara is survived by her sons, Keith Ward and Vickie of Shawnee, OK, Mark Ward and Toni Wray of Idabel, OK; sister-in-law, Pat Poteet of Idabel, OK; brother-in-law, Bill Ward and Eula of Tulsa, OK; special niece, Debbie Schaer; and a big thank you to her very special caretaker, Betty Deramus; grandchildren, Kelly Ward & Diana of Shawnee, OK, Christopher Ward of Ada, OK, Stefanie Morgan & Chris of Shawnee, OK, Blythe Ward and Connor Roden of McKinney, TX, Brenna Ward of Lewisville, TX; a host of nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at First United Methodist Church in Idabel, OK with Pastor Mark Jardine officiating. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 13, 2022 at the funeral home.
