Cyrus Silas McKinney

Cyrus McKinney, age 58, of Oklahoma City passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Tulsa, OK. He was born on April 24, 1962 in Talihina, OK, the son of Silas J McKinney Sr. and Eriss Brandy McKinney. Cyrus was a 1980 graduate of Idabel High School where he was a good athlete involved in football and track.  

Cyrus was a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and playing the guitar. Cyrus was an avid OU Sooner fan and was of the Presbyterian Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Suzanne Shomo; nephew, Frank White; a niece, Allison McKinney; and a brother-in-law, Alan Tonihka.
Cyrus is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Ann" McKinney of Oklahoma City; step-sons, Gary French of Orlando, FL and John French of Boston MA; a step-daughter, Sarah French of Purcell, OK; brothers and sisters-in-law, Silas McKinney Jr. and Betty of Broken Bow, OK, Gwen McKinney and Ruth of Paris, TX and Gary Johnson of Oklahoma City; sister and brother-in-law, Gay and Stanley Shomo of Durant, OK; aunt, Hannah Blackout of Idabel, OK; brothers-in-law, William Tonihka and Betty of Idabel, OK, Wilbur Tonihka of Tulsa, OK and Sherrill Tonihkaand Dora of Idabel, OK; a special niece, Marian Shomo of Idabel, OK; a special friend, Walter Hamilton of Idabel, OK; 7 step-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Philadelphia Cemetery in the Goodwater Community, OK with Bro. Stanley Shomo officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at the funeral home.
