David Lee Jones, 80, of Idabel, passed away on December 6, 2020 in Paris, TX.
The son of William Jesse and Juanita (Horn) Jones, David was born on September 29, 1940 in Honey Grove, TX. David Jones was a quiet man with a wicked sense of humor and witty commentary on everything from politics to his wife's latest "project". He loved all animals and especially his furbabies, Teddy, Max, Biggun and Bitsy. David met and married the love of his life, JoEllen Provence, who was the perfect extrovert to his introvert. JoEllen coaxed/cajoled David into becoming an integral part of the community theater group, "Little River Playhouse" where he brought so much laughter to all of us with his animated performances and memorable characters. David was an outdoorsman and avid golfer, which is fitting because it's a gentleman's game and David was not only a gentleman, but a "gentle man.
David is survived by his wife, JoEllen, of the home; his sons, Michael Jones and wife, Kimberly, and their 2 children of Sweetwater, Texas, Mitchell Morrow and wife, Tracy, of Quitman, Texas and their children; sister, Gaylon Grones of Denison, TX; brother, Dale Jones of Katy, TX; three grandchildren, James Jones, John Jones, and Christina McPherson; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a million friends.
David died of the Covid Virus and there will be no service at this time. Please follow the CDC guidelines, wear a mask, social distance, and sanitize. You do not want the world to lose another very special person.
