David Ray McKinney Sr.

David Ray McKinney, Sr. 59 of Garvin, OK passed from this life September 18, 2024 in Paris, TX surrounded by his loved ones. David was born November 9, 1964 in Idabel, OK to Raymond McKinney and Helen Hester.

David enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking out on the grill, just being outside and tinkering with his little gadgets.

David is preceded in death by his father, Raymond; brother, Mark McKinney; grandmother’s, Mulsey McKinney and Ella Austin; grandfather, John McKinney, Sr.; grandchildren, Cathlina Zahgotah; son-in-law, Gabriel Going.

David is survived by his sons, David McKinney, Jr (Miranda). of Idabel and Anthony McKinney of Muskogee, OK; daughters, Diana McKinney of the home and Regina McKinney-Adams of Valliant; son-in-law, Troy Adams of Valliant; grandsons, Thunder McKinney and Kendon Harley of the home and Braylin Carpenter of Valliant, OK, Dominic, Michael, Austin, David III, Olen ; granddaughters, Ayanna and Ginavie Carpenter both of Valliant, Ella, Aston, Elana, Kaydance, Raelena; grandson-in-law, Alexander Hensley of Valliant; mother, Helen Hester (Ray) of Garvin; lifelong friend and mother of his children, Marsha McKinney; sister, Angie McKinney of Durant; brother, Timothy McKinney of Idabel; special friends/brothers, Billy Byrd, Sr., Reggie Byrd and Norman Byrd, Dre Sanders; special nephews, Hunter Williston, Jonavon Carterby and Elijah Focks; one niece, Ashley; four nephews, Jordan, Jacob, Jessie, Teylor and a host of other family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 23, 2024 at White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK. Interment will follow at Denison Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at the funeral home.
