Deborah "Debbie" Iglehart Obituary

Deborah “Debbie” Iglehart, age 68, passed from this life on Thursday, September 18, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at her sister’s home in Winthrop, AR.  She was born on March 20, 1957 in Idabel, OK, the daughter of Bobby “Bob” Iglehart and Doris Jean (Iglehart) Harris.

Debbie, a constant adventure, loved to travel, her favorite trips were cruises to Mexico and Central America and also New England and Canada. She loved spending time with her family and friends, floating the river and enjoyed nature. Debbie was an avid bird watcher and was able to identify bird species with just the sound of their call. Debbie loved life and lived it to the fullest on her own terms. Despite traveling many, many miles from home, family was always kept a priority and she looked forward to return home for family get togethers. Debbie was always happy to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Giving gifts and thinking of others brought her joy.

Debbie grew up in Idabel, OK. She made several moves in her lifetime, living in different cities and towns, employed in a vast field of careers. She was employed with Idabel and Valliant public schools, was a guard at a women’s prison in Midwest City, OK. She drove a semi-truck cross country for several years, returning home to be closer to family, taking on her latest job as school bus driver first for Idabel Schools and most recently for Valliant Schools.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Iglehart; stepmom, Cecil Iglehart; grandparents, Paul and Georgia Iglehart, Opal and Hazel Thomas.

Debbie is survived by her mother, Doris and Jimmy Harris of Idabel, OK; siblings, Gina and Jessie Dewayne Brown of Winthrop, AR, James and Brenda Iglehart of Idabel, OK, Mike Iglehart of Texarkana, TX, Karla and Brad Queen of Broken Bow, OK; nieces and nephews, Kristopher Knox, John Iglehart, Stephanie Queen, Jenna Iglehart-Maynard, Chelsea Iglehart-Humphrey and Keith, Clint Brown and Kelsey, Chad Queen and Chelsea, Channing Iglehart, Sarah Queen Balentine and Noah; 6 great-nieces, 7 great-nephews; numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 am Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Trinity Baptist Church with a celebration of life memorial service to follow at 11:00 am.
