Don Allen Pritchett, age 78, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020, at his residence in Valliant, OK. He was born to Walter and Clara Pritchett on November 2, 1941 on the same property as his current home.
Don was a veteran of the US Army serving in the late 50's and called back during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After his discharge from active duty he was a member of the US Army Reserves. He retired from Brown and Root where he worked at the Valliant paper mill for several years. Don owned and operated Pritchett's Store, where his customers became like family. He was especially known for his fish and brisket. Don was an accomplished musician and a talented singer and guitar player. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Valliant Masonic Lodge. Don was a member of the Church of Christ and was a lifetime resident of the area.
Don was a devoted son, husband, father, poppie and loyal friend to many. He loved his family with all of his heart and was their rock and he will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Walter Edward Pritchett.
Don leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Norma Jean Pritchett of the home; his daughter, Rhonda Pritchett of Valliant, OK; granddaughter, Brittany Payne and her children, Brady Payne, Noah Payne, Emma Payne, Greyson Payne and their father, Blake Payne all of Valliant, OK; brother-in-law, DeWayne Thomas and wife, LaVeta of Shawnee, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the Moran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July, 28, 2020 at the funeral home.
