Douglas Wade Pollard, age 88 passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, OK. He was born on May 21, 1935 in Pollard Community, OK the son of Olin and Mary Pollard.
Doug proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a road foreman for McCurtain County for more than 20 years.
He enjoyed watching westerns and sports, in addition to working his cattle for many years. Doug loved his family and spending time with them. He was a member of Haworth Church of Christ and lived in the area most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olin and Virginia Pollard; brother, Richard “Bud” Pollard; wife, Mary Pollard and sister, Judy Balagbagan.
Doug is survived by nieces, Misti Pollard and fiancé, Larry Stovall of the Pollard Community, OK, Donna and Brett Banning of Mead, OK; their children, Drew and Brandi and their son, Brayden Edwards; McKenzie and Richie Edwards; Rhonda Harvey and her sons, Lucas Ebert and Skyler and Claire Harvey and their children, Cate and Cason; stepchildren, Mike and Becky Stacey of Idabel, OK, Jacque Ishcomer of Idabel, OK, Garry and Joanie Stacey of Idabel, OK, Sheila and Clay Allison of Red Oak, TX, Lorri and Kenneth Citty of Idabel, OK; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 12, 2024 at White Family Funeral Chapel with Aubrey Thompson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the chapel.
