Dr Ronald E Short

Apostle/Dr Ronald Eston Short, age 90 passed away on Sunday January 26, 2025 at his home in Idabel, OK.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday February 1st at The Church of Southeast OK in Millerton OK. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday January 31, 2025 at White Family Funeral Home. Burial at Denison Cemetery.

Ron was born on August 27,1934 to Howard and Lola May (Thrasher) Short. In Gadsden Alabama He was the oldest of three children.

He attended five universities and colleges, obtaining a double registry in x-ray technology and also a registry in medical lab technology. He became President of The American Technological Society in Alabama.

He was an editor of County Wide Newspaper later a Statewide Newspaper.

He spent seven years as a “Weekend Warrior” for the United States Navy.

On April 30th 1956 he married the love of his life Bonnie Jo Hayes Robinette. Together they raised three children Rick, Lisa, and Shane.

In 1967 He made Jesus Lord of his life and he was never the same again. He was called by The Lord to Spanish-Speaking Countries.

His greatest pleasure in life was teaching The Word of God and watching the spiritual lights come on in those that received The Lord.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years Bonnie, daughter Lisa Mecoyan. Parents Howard and Lola May and brother Richard Short.

Shane Robinette of Idabel, Taylor Robinette of Texarkana AR, Tracer Ogden of Hochatown OK, Kaitlyn and Jared Alexander of Latta Oklahoma, Baily and Zach Sory of Holly Creek OK.

Great Great Grand-Children Emerson, Eleanor, and Evan Alexander of Latta OK. Amella and Wyatt Sory of Holy Creek OK.

Sister Regina Short Stevens of Houston Texas, Sister in law Jo Helen Short of Alabama with a host of Nieces and Nephews, close friend Bobbie Burton, Lorraine Hooks his special prayer warrior, along with many Spiritual Sons and Daughters and many friends who will miss him dearly.
