Edna Louise (Baxter) Joiner

Edna Joiner, age 89, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020 at her home in Idabel, OK. She was born on August 20, 1930 in Haworth, OK to Pat and Irma Baxter.

Edna was a homemaker. She was a waitress at Ray's Steakhouse, worked at Don's Dairy Freeze for several years and later worked as a home health provider.

She was a cut up and very feisty, never met a stranger and always had a smile. She enjoyed  ceramics, quilting and coloring. Edna was a member of the Central Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of McCurtain County.

Edna was a devoted mother, grandmother and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil "Bittyson" Joiner; a son, Jamie Joiner; sisters, Marzell Fisher, Katherine Cox, Marie Cox, Betty Jo Hardwick and Artie Zangarine; and brothers, Patrick Baxter and Mike Baxter.

Edna is survived by her sons; Gary Joiner of Idabel, OK, Dennis Joiner of Haworth, OK, Mike and Vicki Joiner of Idabel, OK and Steve "Babe" Joiner of Idabel, OK; daughters, Cecelia Wilson of Idabel, Becky Wooley of Idabel, OK and Phyllis Brantley of Broken Bow, OK; a sister, Pauline Stansell of Fayetteville, AR; grandchildren, Randy Wilson, Karen Wilson, Tracy and Larry Sargent Jr., Amy and Pabe Harrington, Shonna Darity, Kim Clark, JD Brantley, Beth and Nick Brown, Justin Vance, Crystal Foshee, Tina Joiner, Michelle Tapley, Kim Jacobs, Toni and Shandon Farley and Casey and Jonathan Isaacs; 34 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK with Bro. Melvin Baker officiating.  Interment will follow at the Eagletown Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the funeral home.
