Edna Mae (Ray) Tapley

Edna Tapley, age 83 of Cerro Gordo Community, OK passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Idabel, OK. She was born February 26, 1939 in Wright City, OK, the daughter of William and Helen Ray.
 
Edna was a homemaker and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an LPN and worked several years at DeQueen Regional Hospital. Edna also worked as a substitute teacher for Idabel Public Schools. She enjoyed quilting and taking care of her cattle. An avid reader, she had a large personal library. Edna was a member of the State Line Baptist Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; paternal grandparents, William and Mae Ray; husband, James Tapley; and a brother, Glen Ray.

Edna leaves to cherish her memory her children, Mark and Tracy Tapley of the Redland Community, OK, Valerie and Charles Everette of Benton, LA, Donald and Linda Tapley of Dillsboro, IN and Angel Tapley of Haworth, OK; granddaughter, Ashley Tapley of Haworth, OK; a grandson, Blake Barton of Bento, LA; a great-granddaughter, Trinity Tapley of Haworth, OK; a sister, Rita Jimenez of Santa Rosa, CA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be  held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2023 at the State Line Baptist Church with Pastor Eddie Higgs officiating. Interment will follow at the Cerro Gordo Cemetery.

Public viewing will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the funeral home.
