Ernest David Hallum

Ernest "Ernie" Hallum, age 87 longtime Garvin resident passed away on Thursday, February 10 , 2022 at Idabel, OK. He was born on April 16, 1934 in Garvin, OK, the son of George Henry Hallum and Florence Dora Coffey Hallum.

Ernest worked for the Goolsby family for many years in their farming/ranching operation. He was a hard worker and enjoyed hunting and taking care of his cattle. Ernest was a member of the Garvin Church of Christ and was a lifetime resident of Garvin, OK. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charlie Hallum; and his sisters, Nellie McClesky, Myrtle McClesky, Lorene Austin, Georgia Lee Settles and Alice Mills.

Ernest is survived by his sisters, Eva Murphy of Idabel, OK and Betty Bunn of Garvin, OK; special nieces, Julie Magby and Dennis Farley of Idabel, OK and Peggy Hughes and Kenneth of Haskell, OK; great-nephews, Jason Hughes and Mason Hughes and their family all of Coweta, OK; several other relatives and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 14, 2022 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
