Evelean Vadon Davis

Evelean Vadon Davis, age 91, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at her home in the Redland Community, OK. Evelean was born to Clarence and Myrtle Shelton on May 7, 1932 in Shinewell, OK. Evelean married Sherman Davis on October 25, 1947. She was a member of the Church of God in Redland.

She was a fantastic domino player and was especially good at the game Mexican Train. She enjoyed riding the country roads, seeing new places, sewing and reading. Her favorite show was “Murder She Wrote.” She had a great love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Sherman Davis; brothers, Clifford, Vernon, Olin and Emmitt Shelton; sisters, Inez Brumfield, Della Hill, and Betty Watson.

Evelean is survived by daughters, Martha Jeanes and Paul of Redland, OK, Rita Ward and Sam of CerroGordo, AR, Monte Davis and Vernichia of Horatio, AR; grandchildren, Candy, April, Zachary, Jacob, Chris, Calob, Josh, Dalton and Kaedon; sister, Shirley Davis and Cy of West Otis, OK; brothers, Charles Shelton and Barbara of Tyler, TX, Roger Shelton and Judy of Jadie, OK, Larry Shelton and Linda of Linden, TX; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at the White Family Funeral Home in Idabel, OK with Bro. Landon Middleton officiating. Interment will follow at the Philadelphia Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at the funeral home.
