Gilbert Lee Harris

Gilbert Lee Harris, age 64 passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, OK. He was born on December 14, 1960 in DeQueen, AR, the son of Floyd and Mary Harris.

Gilbert was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He cherished family time, especially those sunny days spent at the lake, where they would gather for cookouts.

He was an avid OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys fan. However, his greatest pride came from being his grandbabies’ biggest fan. He spent countless hours at their games cheering them on and simply spending quality time together. Gilbert’s love for his family was evident in everything he did.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Floyd and Mary Harris and his loving wife of 36 years, Sandra Harley Harris.

Gilbert leaves to cherish his memory his son, Derek Harris and Shelly of Idabel, OK; daughter, Stacey Harris and Brandon of Newcastle, OK; brothers, Alfred Harris of Wright City, OK, Wayne Harris and Priscilla of Valliant, OK, Michael Harris of Wright City, Gary Harris and Kevin of Holly Creek, OK; sister, Patricia Crosby and Alfred of Wright City, OK; grandchildren,  Cheyenne Cherry, Tessa Yanez, Tayla Harris, Abigail Harris, Hadleigh Harris; grandson, Major Smallwood; niece, JoAnn Battiest; Jasmine Harris; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 17, 2025 at the White Family Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tommy Wesley officiating. Interment will follow at Denison Cemetery.
