JR Battiest, age 43 of Idabel, OK passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Plano, TX. He was born on September 6, 1976 in Talihina, OK. He was a 1995 graduate of Valliant High School.
JR was a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, grilling for family and friends and back roading with his daughter. An avid OU Sooners fan, he would do almost anything to keep from missing their games on TV. JR was affiliated with the Choctaw Baptist Church and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County.
JR was a devoted father and son. He loved making his family laugh with his sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Frances and Hampton Williams and paternal grandparents; Leo and Ethel Battiest.
JR leaves to cherish his memory his father, Louis Battiest, Sr. of Broken Bow, OK; mother, Rose Shemwell and husband, Jim of Idabel, OK; son, Kyle Battiest of Broken Bow, OK and Quentin Lewis of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Lindsey Battiest of Idabel, OK; fiancé, Misti Aldridge of Idabel, OK; sister, Kurtrina James of Broken Bow, OK; several nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 22, 2019 at the Canfield Cemetery in Idabel, OK.
