J.R. Bivings

J. R. Bivings, age 85 of Valliant, OK passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 He was born on April 2, 1936 near Idabel, OK, the son of Cleveland Bivings and Gladys Frazier Bivings.

J. R. was a retired home builder, rancher and farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at the family cabin, NASCAR races and restoring classic automobiles and trucks.

J. R. was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved having his family with him for holidays, cook outs and fish fries. He could catch more crappie than anyone in the family, except Sandra.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul, daughter-in-law, Melia; son-in-law, Mike Rubrecht; brother, K.D. Bivings; sisters, Erma Franks and Ina Robbins.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandra; daughters, Pamela Craig and husband, Kenny and Angela Bivings; brother, Calvin Bivings, sisters, Emma White, Dorothy Free and Glenda Thompson; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Private family services were held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Valliant Cemetery.
