JW Foshee, age 88 passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at his home in Idabel, OK surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 22, 1932 in Paris, AR, the son of Martin and Flora Bullock Foshee. JW married his wife Frankie in Sulphur Springs, TX in 1957, she was 16 years old and promised her parents that he would see that she finished school.
JW joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17 with his daddy's signature. He was a radar technician, a marksman left handed and a sharp shooter right handed. JW served in Korea during the Korean War.
He loved hunting and fishing. His hunting passion in his younger years was training a good bird dog. JW was a wood turner and enjoyed making things for his friends. He was often encouraged to sell his woodwork but preferred to give it away. JW enjoyed playing solitaire, dominos and putting puzzles together. He was an avid reader until recently, he would check out the maximum number of books allowed, reading some of them twice before their due date. JW learned to dance about 4 years ago and loved to take his wife dancing on Friday and Saturday nights at the Idabel Music Hall.
JW loved his family dearly and especially loved for everyone to be together. He cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. JW was affiliated with the Baptist Faith and knew the Lord as his personal Savior.
He was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Robert Foshee, Jeff Foshee and Velbert Foshee; a sister, Yvonne McGuire; and a son-in-law, Lewis Thomas.
JW is survived by his wife, Frankie Foshee of the home; son, Marty Foshee and Belinda of Broken Bow, OK; daughters, Tina Foshee Thomas of Idabel, OK and Angie Lambert and Larry of the Goodwater Community, OK; brother, Neal Foshee of Magazine, AR; sisters, Janette McMurtry and JR of Paris, AR and Judy Foshee of Magazine, AR; sisters-in-law, Loretta Foshee, Shirley Foshee, Barbara and Danny Cavanaugh, and Judy and Freddie Ledbetter; grandchildren, Amanda Jo Davis and Nate, Ashlee Moore, Kristen Gragg and Brandon and Jason Tate; great-grandchildren, Leia Gragg, Laela Gragg, Brandon Gragg Jr., Brantlee Gragg and Ceslee Moore; 10 step-grandchildren, 15 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews , other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the White Family Chapel with Bro Bob O'Neil and Bro Russell McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday. July 21, 2021 at the funeral home.
