James Henry Martin, Jr.

James Henry Martin Jr., age 51 passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Idabel, OK. He was born on February 4, 1972 in Idabel, OK. James was a 1990 graduate of Paden High School.

James was a CLEET Certified Police Officer and worked for the Idabel Police Dept. for several years. James enjoyed fishing, hunting and animals, especially his Dachshund's.  He loved spending time with his family and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Henry Martin Sr.; step-mother, Sharon J Martin; brothers, Michael Martin and Ricky Martin; and sisters, Teresa Martin and Monica Coffman.

James is survived by his daughter, Madison Marie Martin-Buckman of Broken Bow, OK; his mother and step-dad, Delta Williams and Ted of Kingston, OK; brother, Jerry Don Martin of Idabel, OK; sister, Nancy Hedrick and Darrel of Idabel, OK; special nieces, Dalaine Hedrick, Heather Hedrick, and Lisa Martin; nieces, Tori Elmquist and Leah Somers; nephew, Steve Martin; several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the White Family Chapel. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the funeral home.
