James "Dwight" Allen

James Dwight Allen, aged 79, passed away on September 28, 2024, at home in the Harris Community, OK. He was born on February 18, 1945, in Malta, TX, the son of Horace and Norvell Allen. Dwight was a 1964 graduate of Haworth High School.

Dwight married Elsie, in Idabel, OK, September 19, 1964 and retired after a fulfilling 30-year career at Red River Army Depot, his dedication and hard work left a lasting impact on his family and community.

He was a man of many interests, including hunting, camping, and gardening. Dwight also enjoyed watching westerns, a passion that brought him much joy and relaxation. His love for the outdoors and the simple pleasures in life were evident to all who knew him.

Dwight leaves behind a loving family: his wife, Elsie; daughter, Ranea Allen of Haworth, OK; grandchildren, Kasi Dollarhyde, Jessica Beasley & Jeromy, Chance Allen & Brandy, Caiden Allen, Christopher Allen & Cassie, and Misty Spalding. He is also survived by his brothers, Harlan Allen of Haworth, OK, Howard Allen & Debbie Harris of New Boston, TX, Roger Allen & Jo of Hooks, TX; and sister, Sharon Powell & Parker of Fulton, AR. James was a cherished figure in the lives of his numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends who will miss him deeply. Special thanks are extended to Shaylee Birge, Natalie Lane, & Jessica Denison of Mays Hospice for their compassionate care.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his children, Brock Allen and Jerry Allen, and his great-grandson, Hunter Allen.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 2:00 pm at White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK with Bro. Ed Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Harris cemetery, Harris Community, OK.

A visitation service is scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the White Family Funeral Chapel
