Jean (Magar) Provence

Jean Provence, age 77 of Idabel, OK passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 at Idabel. She was born on August 28, 1943 in Garvin, OK, the daughter of Lester J Magar and Fannie Lou Woods Magar. Jean was a 1961 graduate of Idabel Gray High School.

Jean owned and operated Provence Lime and Fertilizer for over 45 years.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. Jean was a longtime member of the Bypass Church of Christ and was a lifetime resident of the Idabel area.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family dearly and cherished the time she spent with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Provence in 2001; a sister, Norma Smith; and her brother, James “LV” Magar.

Jean is survived by her son, Bryan Provence and Kristie Gauntt of Chickasha, OK; daughter, Angie Little and Daniel of North Richland Hills, TX ; grandchildren, Jace Gauntt, Colton Gauntt, Mattie Navarro-Provence, Brayden Provence, Alex Pikes and Tre, Amelia Little and Dustin Little; a great-grandson, Creed Pikes; a sister, Johnnie Gallatin of Edmond, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the Denison Cemetery with Wayne Warren officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the funeral home.
