Jeff Cooke

Jeffrey Dewitte Cooke age 57 passed away on Thursday, February 22 2024 at his home in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born on May 17, 1966 in Idabel, Oklahoma, the son of Curtis and JoAnn Cooke of Idabel, Oklahoma.

Jeff loved the outdoors. He spent the majority of his life in the woods and on the water hunting, fishing and trapping. That is where he was always the happiest. He attended Idabel high school until he graduated in 1984. He worked at Safeway and at the family’s D&J mini mart all through school. He was a very talented welder, iron worker and crane operator.

He married Letha Thompson in September of 1997 and they had a son, Thompson Lynn Cooke. They moved to Frisco, Texas and he went to school to be a cosmetologist. Later he moved to Norman, Oklahoma and got his license to practice there. Jeff was injured on the job and had been taking care of his mother JoAnn in Norman ever since.

He was proceeded in death by his dad Curtis Cooke; Grandparents, Marshal and Pearl Cooke, Tom and Robbie Hester.

Jeff is survived by his mother, JoAnn Cooke of Norman, OK; Sister Dayna Leonard of Norman, OK, Son Thompson Cooke of Idabel, OK, Daughter Eryn Posey  and Stephen of Tom, OK, Granddaughter Calynn Posey of Tom, OK, Nephew Colt Leonard of Norman, OK.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at the White Family Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Denison Cemetery in Idabel.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at the chapel.
