Jesse Cockrell Obituary

Jesse Alan Cockrell, age 55 passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Medical City Dallas. He was born on March 25, 1970, the son of Roy Cockrell and Sheila and James Hill in Idabel, OK.

Jessie was a man of remarkable talent, especially gifted in the art of craftsmanship. With skillful hands and a creative spirit, he could turn any piece of wood into a true masterpiece. His work, like his life, reflected patience, passion, and a unique perspective that touched everyone who knew him.

Throughout the years, Jesse made a lasting impact on countless lives. He taught others – by example – to be authentic, to embrace their individuality, and to love wholeheartedly. Even in the face of life’s challenges, he pushed forward with resilience, always greeting the world with a smile.

Jesse was the fun one in the family – the source of laughter, excitement, and unforgettable moments. You never quite knew what he might say next, and yet nothing he said ever failed to amaze. His vibrant spirit and one-of-a-kind personality made him truly unforgettable.

His love for his family shone brightly in everything he did. He was endlessly proud of his boys and their children, never hesitating to brag about them to anyone who would listen. Jesse cherished sharing stories from his youth, often recounting them with humor and warmth – like the time he hid baby skunks in his dresser drawer because he didn’t want them to die.

Jesse’s legacy lives on in the joy he brought, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hill and Sheila; sister, Donna and Chris Methvin; and niece, Payton Cockrell.

Jesse is survived by his sons, Matthew Cockrell of Idabel, OK, Jayden Cockrell of Idabel, OK; twin brother, Jerry Cockrell and Michelle Funk of Hot Springs, AR, James Cockrell and Brenda of DeQueen, AR; other relatives and friends..
