Jewell Stone “Maw”, age 87 passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 at her home in Tom, OK. She was born on July 15, 1934 in Tom, OK, the daughter of Marshall and Ammie Martin.
Jewell was a homemaker. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing Nintendo games, working jig saw puzzles and crossword puzzles. A big sports fan, her favorite baseball team was the Texas Rangers and in her younger years she loved to go fishing.
Jewell was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a friend to many. She loved her family and the community of Tom.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Stone; sons, Gary Stone, Doug Stone and Darrell Stone; brothers, Beddie Martin, Wayburn Martin and Dorsey "Dump" Martin; and sisters, Margie Hurst and Mildred Green.
Jewell is survived by her son, Jimmy Stone and Susan of Idabel, OK; daughter, Susie Owens and John Draper of Tom, OK; daughters-in-law, Meleony Stone of Texarkana, TX and Jayleen Stone of Idabel, OK; grandchildren, Matt Stone and wife Tamra, Lynci David and husband DJ, Ashlee Felipe and husband Coco, Kyle Owens; special grandchildren, Rebecca Drager and husband Lance, Jessica Osterdock; great-grandchildren, Kasyn Stone, Mykah Beck, Mattisyn Stone, Ethan Stone, Kaden Kirkwood, Preston Felipe, Chloe Felipe; special great-grandchildren, Lexi Lorance and husband Justin, Allisyn Smith; special great-great- grandchildren, Jakkstone Osterdock and Alex Lorance; sister, Ruby Jean Cassera of San Luis Obispo, CA; brother-in-law, Bill Stone of Tom, OK; a sister-in-law, Vickey Sharp of Foreman, AR; Rocky Randolph who she considered a grandson; special caregivers, Tammy Williams, Dr Wilcox, Dr Greenwell and Gwen Bailey; several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Tom Baptist Church in Tom, OK with John Draper officiating. Interment will follow at the Tom Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the funeral home.
