Jim Bob Skieens, born on October 15, 1959, in Dequeen Arkansas to parents, Don Skieens and Aline Geller. He passed away on September 21, 2025, in Paris Texas at the age of 65. JB was a husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend.
Jim graduated from Wright City High School where he met the love of his life and best friend Becky Skieens. The two built a life together that withstood the test of time. He was a devout Christian and poured those lessons of faith into his family. Jim Bob was a long time Lumberjax and his pride for the program was unmatched. When he wasn’t living his best life with his family, Jim could be found among the tall pine trees of southeast Oklahoma chasing whatever game was in season. He never met a stranger and had time for anyone who would listen. Anyone who crossed paths with Jim Bob was sure to have a story to tell the next generation. He was a genuine man who many considered a father figure. He carried the weight of his family on his shoulders and held the respect of many. JB found a new vigor for life in granddaughter Taygan Skieens. If his wife hung the moon, Taygan hung the stars. Jim Bob will forever be known as Dad, Uncle and Pappa to so many. He was one in a million and the world was a better place with him in it.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don Skieens; mother, Aline Geller; stepfather Bill Geller along with numerous grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Becky Skieens; sons Tyrell Skieens of Wright City and Taylor and wife Whitney Skieens of Idabel; grand(daughter) Taygan Skieens of the home; granddaughters Kiercy Skieens, Saylor Skieens, and Chloe Cavinder. He is also survived by his sisters Donna Watkins and husband Charles Watkins of Idabel, OK, and Jolene Cunningham and husband Bub Cunningham of Wright City, OK; along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Thursday evening at White Family Funeral Home.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Wright City School Auditorium with Jimmy Westbrook and Jimmy Smalling officiating.
