Jimmie Dale Pugh, age 76 passed to his Heavenly Home on Sunday, February 21, 2021. Jimmie was born on February 16, 1945 in Idabel, OK, the son of William and Audrey Cleo Pugh. He and Patti Dawson were united in marriage on February 16, 1973, in Clarksville, TX.
Jimmie graduated from Idabel High School in 1963 and attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater graduating with a degree in Agriculture. After graduation he taught Ag at Valliant High School. After a few years he left the teaching field to sell homes for Perdue Housing in Idabel and surrounding areas.
The pipeline industry claimed him in 1975 when the big Trans Alaskan Pipeline was being built. He was a long time member of the Pipeliners Local Union 798 Tulsa, OK.
Leaving the pipeline industry after several years he began a career in timber production in this area, later moving on to become a logging contractor for International Paper Co. around the Shreveport, LA area for approximately 25 years.
Upon retiring from the timber business his love for pipelining kindled his return to the industry whereas he worked as a Pipeline Inspector until his recent death.
He was an outdoorsman, an avid hunter and fisherman spending any time he had enjoying these sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sue Hill; brothers, Jerrel Pugh, Wayne Pugh and Larry Don Pugh; and nephews Cary Pugh and Larry Pugh.
Jimmie leaves to cherish his memory, Patti his wife of 48 years; daughter, Kelle Hill and husband, Steve of Dallas, TX; son, Chance Pugh and wife, Stacy and granddaughter, Kayla Bacon all of Idabel, OK; sisters, Neta Pugh of Tyler, TX, Linda Kay Prim of Sulphur Springs, TX and Vicki Luman of Idabel, OK; nieces, Karla Hardin and Pam Bryant; nephews, Rusty Prim and Jerry Pugh; numerous other relatives, friends and his pipeline family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the White Family Chapel. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.
