Jimmie Dale "JD" Roberson, age 85 of Idabel, OK woke up in the presence of Jesus on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Idabel. He was born on October 24, 1938 in Liberty, TX, the son of James Hamilton Roberson and Mildred Savoal Yokem Roberson. JD married Muriel Farley on February 5, 2005 at Idabel, OK.
JD pipelined and was a heavy equipment mechanic. He enjoyed welding and fabrication. JD was an avid sports fan, especially enjoyed watching the OKC Thunder and the Carl Albert Titan football team. He was a faithful member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. JD loved studying the Bible receiving a diploma in Bible Studies from Faith Bible Institute. He moved back to Idabel in 2001 coming from Owasso, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilda Joann Storey Roberson; and a sister, Shelba May.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Muriel Roberson of the home; children, Kim Horton and Jim of Weatherford, TX, Connie Davis and Spencer of Chandler, OK, Dustin Roberson and Jennifer of Owasso, OK, Tonya Chandler and Chris of Oklahoma City, OK, Pam Gillette of Oklahoma City, OK and Shane Farley and Hayley of Midwest City, OK; grandchildren, Rachel Horton, Rebekah Horton, Jonathan Horton, Andrew and Emma Horton, Jeremy Horton, Malachi and Aspen Davis, Josiah Davis, Elihu Davis, Kaiden and Zach Fate, Jacob Roberson, Jenna Roberson, Hannah and Nathan Ohsfeldt, Micah Chandler, Seth Chandler, Lauren and Daniel Donaldson, Meagan and Jason Swarringim, Grayson and Kaylee Gillette, Callie Farley, Maddie Farley and Jake Farley; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Ohsfeldt, Dominic Fate and Mari Donaldson; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Idabel, OK with Pastor. Jason Clark and Bro Doug Clements officiating. Interment will follow at the Denison Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the funeral home.
