James “Jimmy” Thomas Billingsley arrived safely to his heavenly home on November 18, 2024. He passed away peacefully at his home in Idabel, OK, with his loving wife Becky by his side, surrounded by family.
James “Jimmy” Thomas Billingsley born September 28, 1933 in Holly Creek, OK to Tim “Peewee” Billingsley and Ruth Allen Billingsley. Graduated from Gray HS in 1951.
22 years of service in the Air Force as a Vietnam Vet, SR-71 crew chief and recruiter. During his time in the Air Force he earned the title of Golden Glove boxing champion.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, he served as a SGT of the Dallas Police Department in the Mounted Unit for 20 years.
Jimmy made it clear that even though he served his country in the military and protected the people of Dallas by serving as a police officer, there was no greater honor than serving our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 71 years Becky Billingsley, his son Jim Billingsley and wife Julee, daughter Angela Shupert, grandkids Courtney and Mitchell Billingsley, Natalie Tuten (David) and husband Al, Lyndsi White and husband Casey, Lexi Shupert, Tom and wife Courtney along with 9 great-grandkids- Carter, Mason, Chloe, William, Layla, Addison, Wolfgang, Elijah and Beckham.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his precious son Mitchell Billingsley, mother Ruth Billingsley and brothers Jackie and Jerry Billingsley.
Jimmy was a follower of Christ and a longtime member and deacon of Idabel First Baptist Church.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with full military honors will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Idabel, OK, officiated by Bro. Andy Bowman.
