Joan Jackson, age 84 of Redland, was born to Raymond and Christine Hughes on November 13, 1941, in Redland Community, OK. She passed from this life on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at her home in Haworth surrounded by her family.
Joan was an elementary teacher for over 35 years, dedicating her life to nurturing young minds. Outside of her teaching career, Joan enjoyed various hobbies that enriched her life. Reading was one of her greatest pleasures. Fishing was another escape for her, where she embraced the peacefulness of nature.
Joan was also a dedicated sports fan. She proudly supported the Texas Rangers and was also an ardent follower of the Oklahoma City Thunder along with the Oklahoma Sooner Softball Team.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Cletus “Skeet” Jackson, parents, Raymond and Christine Hughes; infant granddaughter; son-in-law, Mark Ebert.
Joan is survived by her son, Ricky Jackson and Terri; daughter, LaDonna Ebert; grandchildren, Tyler Tadlock and Shelby; Brittany Stone and Jon, Chris Jackson and Kendra, Kelsie Jackson, Kayli Bailey and Justin; brother, Andy Hughes and Jana; sister, Glinda Cox; great-grandchildren Jaxon Tadlock, Jenson Tadlock, Mya Stone, Lucy Stone, Ace Stone, Kryslee Jackson, Kendyl Jackson, Clay Jackson, Loklyn Power, Raiger Bailey, Adley Bailey; niece, Sonya Shirey and Gary; nephew, Michael Cox and Kim many other relatives and friends
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Redland Church of Christ with Michael Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Redland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at the funeral home.
