John Bradley Butler, age 52 passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at his home in Idabel, OK. He was born May 8, 1971 in Dequeen, AR.
John was a 1989 graduate of Idabel High School where he was a very talented football player. He was affectionately known to his friends and teammates as "Animal". John enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
He worked in law enforcement until his health began to fail. He worked for the McCurtain County Sherriff's Dept. as well as the Broken Bow Police Dept.
John recently had become interested in both scripture and spiritual things and had developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He had a huge heart and his family and friends will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd & Willie Butler; his father, Donnie H. Butler; a brother, Gregg Butler; stepfather, Smith Saunders, uncles; Kenneth Butler & Larry Burns; and aunts, Marie Walker & Elaine Butler.
John leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Deanna Saunders, of Morristown, TN; step parents, Phyllis and Jerry Nicholson, of Idabel, OK; sisters, Fonda & Bobby Proctor, of Broken Bow, OK, and Cynthia Rodriguez, of Denver, CO; son, Jordon Butler and family of Miami, OK; several other stepchildren and their families; nieces, Kandy and Brandon Rudd & Danielle Butler; nephews, Clayton Proctor & Greg Butler, Jr.; numerous grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many many friends.
A celebration of John's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at White Family Funeral Chapel with Bro. Doug Deramus officiating.
The viewing and visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 26, 2023 at the funeral home.
