John Paul Russell

John Paul Russell, age 82 passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX. He was born on May 9, 1942 in Stillwater, OK the son of Jay and Thelma Russell.

John Paul was a retired welder and a proud member of Union 798. He had a passion for working with his hands, whether it was on the job or tackling projects around the house.

In addition to his welding career, John Paul enjoyed the thrill of flying planes and searching for treasures with his metal detector. He was a dedicated YouTube watcher and enjoyed exploring a variety of topics. John Paul was well known for his wittiness

Above all, John Paul cherished his time with his family, reveling in every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by everyone who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay Neal and Thelma Russell; sister, Jolane Gardner and brother, Jan Neal Russell.

John Paul leaves to cherish his memory his children, Pam Daniell and Marty of Idabel, OK, J. Paul Russell and Stacy of Ada, OK; grandchildren, John Buck Russell, Kalan Russell, Kaci Donn Russell and Allen Hash, Seth Russell, Clay Balthrop and Bre, Caden Balthrop; great-grandchildren, Rileigh Balthrop, Briar Balthrop, Paityn Battiest, Lilah Gibson; brother, Ron Russell of Texas; sisters, Rita Breuninger of Stillwater, OK, Mary Jane Kirchenbauer of California; best friend, Merrill Harkey of Idabel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
