Johnny W Reid

Johnny W. Reid, age 63, of Idabel, OK passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025 in Texarkana, TX. Johnny was born on August 4, 1963 in Smithville, TX, the son of A.W. Reid and Daisy Reid Clawson.

Johnny had many adventures as the son of a Railroad Dad, living in many states Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Some of his adventures included Baseball, Band, FFA and 4-H. In FFA in Itasca, TX, he won chapter Farmer Award and had the grand champion steer of Johnson County Fair.

During his high school days there, he had the honor of being the student President of the LSU Ag Center Caddo Parish Chapter. Johnny enjoyed his time in FFA and 4-H participating in many fairs and shows with lambs, steers, animals and projects. He then  attended LSU Shreveport and was a member of the Fencing Team.

Some of his life accomplishments he was very proud of include being a police officer in both Idabel, OK and Texarkana, AR as well as an almost 20 year employee of Idabel Wal-Mart #38. But the accomplishment he was most proud of is being a Dad to his most precious daughter, Madison Reid.

He was preceded in death by his Dad, A.W. Reid and stepdad, Bill Clawson, and his stepbrother, Rick Clawson.

Johnny is survived by his Mom, Daisy Clawson; daughter, Madison Reid; sister, Susan Reid Gonzalez and Mario; stepsister, Vonda Sparkman; stepbrother, Joe Clawson and Darlene; stepsister, Billie Dunn and Lloyd; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends as well as his Wal-Mart family of co-workers.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers or gifts a donation can be made to the Building Fund at Trinity Baptist Church, Idabel, OK.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 29, 2025 at the Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at White Family Funeral Chapel.  Interment will follow at Canfield Cemetery.
