“Lobo” Jon Brett Matthiesen, age 50 of Idabel, OK passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on April 17, 1971 in Blackwell, OK, the son of Larry Lee and Elizabeth Eikenbery Matthiesen.
Jon was a graduate of Broken Bow High School class of ’89. He graduated from Tiger Welding Institute in Tulsa, OK. For the next 25 years Jon worked for various companies throughout the United States; however, Peevy Piping was his constant.
The light of his life was his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and going to concerts. Jon was a walking music encyclopedia. He loved all sorts of music especially hair bands. He was an avid sports fan and a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. Jon also loved his mullet.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Matthiesen in 1992 and birth mother, Debbie Chaney Howell in 2012.
Jon is survived by his wife of 26 years, Stephanie Harvey Matthiesen of the home; parents, Larry and Patty Matthiesen of Poteau, OK; children, Charles Harvey and Kyla of Wright City, OK, Billy Harvey of the home, Shelby Mills of DeQueen, AR, Macey Matthiesen of Broken Bow, OK; grandchildren, Noah and Allie of the home, Jackson Brett-Lee of Wright City, OK, Brayden of Texarkana, TX, Brett of Broken Bow, OK; brother, Jay Scott and Carrie Matthiesen of Dallas, TX; sisters, Tonya Casey and Larry of Coalgate, OK, Trayce and Kelley Shanks of Malta, TX; mother-in-law and father-in-law, JoAnn and Mike Lewis; best friends/brothers since second grade, Eric Peevy and Kyle Whitten, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 7, 2022 at the Faith Christian Center in Broken Bow, OK with Bro. Larry Matthiesen and Pastor Chuck Darby officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Top Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 4, 2022 at the funeral home.
