Joyce Ann "Mamaw" Citty (née Napier), 87, of Idabel, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on March 20, 2026. Born on March 23, 1938, in Denison, Oklahoma, Joyce lived a life devoted to faith, family, and service.
After graduation from Haworth High School, Joyce pursued her education at Eastern Oklahoma State Junior College, earning an Associate degree while participating in the ROTC program. Her compassion and dedication led her to a meaningful career with the Department of Human Services, where she worked tirelessly to support others in need until her retirement.
A faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Idabel, Joyce served as the church pianist for decades. Her unwavering belief in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life. She deeply cherished her church community and the fellowship it brought.
Joyce’s love for her family was boundless. She treasured moments spent with loved ones under the oak trees in her yard, often gathering to enjoy burgers and homemade ice cream. Her earthly joys extended to tending her yard and nurturing her plants, flowers, and trees. An accomplished quilter, she found great delight creating beautiful works of art with friends at the Redland Community Center’s quilting circle.
She is survived by her sons Darren Citty of Idabel, OK; Derek Citty and daughter-in-law Marla of Aledo, TX; grandchildren Jocelyn Citty of Dallas, TX; Zach Citty of Austin, TX; brother Larry Napier and sister-in-law Reginia of Clarksville, TX; sister Janis Ashby and brother-in-law Neal of Tishomingo, OK; sister-in-law Ronna Napier of Redland, OK; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends. The family also honors Joyce’s special bond with Clovis "Mamoo" Whittington—a lifelong friend she loved like a sister.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Haskell Citty; son Brian Citty; parents Gene and Edith Napier; and brother Kevin Napier.
Her memory will forever live on through the lives she touched with kindness and love. May those who knew Joyce find comfort in celebrating the joy she brought into their lives.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Bro Doug Clements and Bro Jason Clark officiating. Interment will follow at the Redland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, March 23, 2026 at the funeral home.
