Kathryn "Katy" Valentine Obituary

Kathryn Elizabeth Valentine was born July 28, 1988, in New Orleans, LA, and died June 3, 2021.

Katy grew up in Idabel and spent most of her adult life in McCurtain County.
She was a 2006 graduate of Idabel High School and attended Oklahoma State University.

Katy was an incredibly talented angel who surprised and touched every audience with her vocal performances. She was a very enthusiastic member of Poptime Singers in high school and majored in vocal performance at OSU.

Katy was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist in Idabel and had  recently been attending Victory Life in Broken Bow, OK.

She had a joie de vivre' for life and cherished the time she spent with her daughter Lena Rose and her family. Any company Katy kept immediately absorbed her carefree, infectious spirit and were impressed by her ability to make the best of any situation.

Katy's boldness instilled confidence in her which enabled her to live life to the fullest. She was known as a free spirit who did not necessarily feel the need to conform to traditional rules. She was a constant source of encouragement for family and friends to take leaps and risks in their endeavors. She intuitively knew how to best help her family and friends who relied on her as a source of strength. Katy did not harbor ill will toward those who had caused her hurt and thus showed an example of forgiveness to all who loved her.

Katy had a passion for the outdoors and shared and used that passion to be an excellent teacher for her daughter. As a massage therapist, she loved helping people heal, and promoted naturopathic solutions to help her clients and family.

Katy is survived by her daughter Lena Rose, her mother Barbara Valentine of Idabel, father Mark Valentine and step-mother Cyndi Valentine of Mandeville, LA, sisters Jessica Valentine of Idabel, Hillary Valentine of Colorado Springs, CO, brother Sam Valentine of New Orleans, LA, step-brother Cory Baudier of Jacksonville, FL, and is survived and loved also by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
