Kendrick Butler Obituary

Specialist Kendrick Anthony Terrel Butler was born to Terry Myrks and Raquel Butler on June 3, 1991, in Idabel, OK. He transitioned from this life on Friday, August 30, 2024. 

At an early age in 2003, Kendrick made the commitment to give his life to Christ.  

Affectionately known as “Beezy”, Kendrick attended Idabel High School. He was a proud member of the Idabel High School Warrior football, basketball, and track teams. He graduated in 2009. After graduation, he attended Northeastern State University. March of 2012, Kendrick made a brave decision to join the United States Army. During his active time, he was stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX. He would soon marry his wife Stacy Zavala in 2013. On November 5, 2014, he received an honorable discharge from the army. He returned home to work for Valliant Weyerhaeuser, Patriots Railroad, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and B Mack Plumbing. 

Kendrick was adored and loved by many. He had a heart that truly carried the torch for respect, with such a simple and humble soul. Kendrick enjoyed spending time with his family on many occasions. His most cherished moments were spent with Kimberly Butler aka “Aunt Shun”. With so much appreciation and support, the family refers to her as his second mom, showering him with love, wisdom, and her special “Banana Pudding”. During his pastime, you would find him playing video games or going to the casino.  

Kendrick is preceded in death by his father, Terry Myrks; Grandmother Shirley Ann Butler; Vivian Ann Myrks; Great-Grandmother Cora Myrks and Great-Great-Grandmother Roberta Chapman. 

He leaves to cherish in memory, his mother Raquel Butler and husband Raymond Larry Jr. Daughters, Monica Butler, Kenzley Butler, Journey Butler, and Andrea Butler. Sisters, Te’re Myrks of Idabel, OK; MSGT Kacey Thomas of Biloxi, MS; Stacey and Stefen Edwards of Moore, OK. Brothers Terry “Tyshawn” and Krystal Threatt of Plano, TX; Ne’ronte and Ebony Threatt of Little Elm, TX; Raymond (Fat) Larry III of Palestine, TX; Ra Dale Larry, Ra’Quan Larry and Ra’Vian Larry all of Idabel, OK. 

Kendrick also leaves to cherish his uncles and aunts, Bridgette and William Hamilton of Mesquite, TX; Tammy Bagsby of Idabel, OK; Kimberly Butler of Idabel, OK; Katina Broades of Idabel, OK; Vetecia Broades and Sean Adams of Midwest City, OK; Lakezia Broades of Norman, OK; Brandy Myrks of Dallas, TX, Johnny Terry of Oklahoma City, OK; Anthony Butler of Fort Worth, TX; Reginald Ray Myrks Sr. of New Boston, TX; Deon Broades of Ardmore, OK; and Tareekus Broades of El Reno, OK. One niece Ava Threatt and nephew Jaydon Threatt. He also leaves to cherish a host of cousins, aunts, and friends. He also leaves to cherish a special friend, Samatha Baker of Idabel, OK.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Bypass Church of Christ in Idabel. Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the White Family Funeral Chapel.
