Lahoma J Whitehead, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at her home in Haworth, OK. She was born on February 7, 1946 in Talihina, OK, the daughter of John Coleman Long and Leola Josephine Lemon Long. Lahoma was a 1964 graduate of Haworth High School.
Lahoma was a homemaker. She worked as a CNA at Memorial Heights, also at City Drug before going to work at the Valliant Paper Mill from which she retired.
Lahoma was very active in her community where she was a former board member of the Haworth Water District and a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed farming, taking care of her place and eating with her friends at the Choctaw Community Center. Lahoma was an avid baseball fan and was always a big supporter of her grandchildren and other family when they played sports. She was affiliated with the Haworth Assembly of God Church and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County.
She was preceded in death by her parents; special lifelong friend, Glen Snider; a grandson, Shon Tabor; and a brother, Bob Long.
Lahoma is survived by her daughter, Patricia Dunn of Haworth, OK; grandsons, Shane Tabor and Jerry and Haley Tabor all of Haworth, OK; great-grandchildren, Shon Tabor, Sadie Tabor, Isiah Tabor and Cyrus Tabor; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Janet Long of Haworth, OK, Ronnie and DeDe Long of Glen Rose, TX, Johnny and Carol Long of Haworth, OK; a sister, Billie Baugh of Heavener, OK; a sister-in-law, Gloria Long of Haworth, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the White Family Chapel but due to capacity limits mandated by concerns regarding the Covid 19 the service will be private. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2020 at the funeral home.
