Obituary

Larry Parker, age 78, of Idabel, OK passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Paris, TX. He was born on April 28, 1945 in Idabel. Larry was a member of the Idabel Gray High School Class of 1963. He married his wife, Helen Gragg in Idabel on April 9, 1965 and she preceded him in death in March of 2020.

Larry and Helen had moved to Ada, OK in 1979 and lived there until moving back to Idabel in 2003. He worked in management at Service Chevrolet during the time he was in Ada, OK. Upon returning to Idabel he worked at Southeast Autoplex until his retirement in 2020. Larry was an avid sports fan and supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, OU Sooners and the Idabel Warriors. A successful little league coach (Apache's) in the Idabel area, he helped to mold many young men. A dad to many, the girls were always bringing someone home that need a place to stay.   

Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. His family was important to him and they will miss him greatly.

He  was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen Parker; a daughter, Tracy Lee Parker; a grandson, Brant Matthew Winton; brothers, Jesse Parker, James "Whitey" Parker, Johnny Parker and Steve Parker; and a sister-in-law,  Wanda Lou Black.

Larry is survived by his; daughters and son-in-law, Tammy and Jeff Winton of Ada, OK and Sandra Sawyer of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Lyndsey East and husband Taylor and Alexander Winton all of Ada, OK; a great-grandson, Tyson East of Ada, OK; a brother, Dennis Parker and Merry of, Houston TX; sisters-in-law, Diane Lancaster of Seven Points, TX, Mary Gail Randolph and Joanie Stacey both of Idabel, OK; special friend and companion, Nancy McNeal of Idabel, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the White Family Chapel in Idabel, OK with Dennis Parker and Scott Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Marshall Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023 at the funeral home.
