Lee Roy Sparkman Jr.

Lee Roy Sparkman, Jr., age 53 passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at St. Michaels Hospital in Texarkana, TX. He was born on March 1, 1973, the son of Lee Roy Sparkman, Sr and Teresa Sparkman.

From a young age, he learned the value of working with his hands. There was something about electricity that suited him – the quiet turning into something essential, the invincible of becoming powerful. As an electrician, he didn’t just fix wires or restore power; he brought light back into people’s homes, often without them ever knowing the effort behind it. It was honest work, and that’s exactly what he was – honest, through and through.

Whether it be fishing, frog gigging, or just simply riding down the backroads by the house to stand and enjoy it all – it was in those moments he was most himself.  Lee Roy was a Mama’s boy and he cherished spending time with his family and loved them with a passion.

Lee Roy was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County and attended the Cowboy Church in Garvin.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Travis and Georgie Sparkman; maternal grandparents, John and LaWanda Baird; and his grandson, Jeremy Henslee.

Lee Roy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Rhonda Sparkman of Idabel, OK, father, Lee Roy Sparkman, Sr.; mother, Teresa Sparkman of Idabel, OK; sons, Justin Foryan of Durant, OK, Daekin Johnson of Wright City, OK, Aiden Johnson of Broken Bow, OK, Jeromme Henslee of Broken Bow, OK, Derek Watson of Tulsa, OK, EJ Bizzell of Broken Bow, OK; daughters, Jessica Henslee of Idabel, OK, Sara Henslee of Idabel, OK; sisters, Cathy Flood and Danny of Idabel, OK; numerous grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the White Family Chapel.
