Letha Thompson-Cooke

Letha Thompson-Cooke, age 46 passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at her home in Broken Bow, OK. She was born on March 9, 1977 in Texarkana, TX, the daughter of Larry and Sonia (Bushers) Thompson of Harris, OK. The family moved to Idabel when Letha was thirteen.

Letha loved the outdoors, horses, music of all genres, learning new things and spending time with family and friends. She attended Haworth Schools until graduating in 1995. She loved competing in dance. While in school, she was Little Miss Haworth and Miss Haworth and very active in 4-H, FFA, and Speech/Drama Club. After high school she attended Oklahoma Christian College in Oklahoma City.

She married Jeffrey Cooke in September of 1997 and they had one son, Thompson Lynn Cooke. Later moving to Frisco, TX, she was an assistant at Frisco Montessori where her son attended. Letha was currently working at Blue Rooster and had been active in recovery classes. She aspired to be a counselor in the years to come.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Larry Lynn Thompson; grandparents, James and Arlette Bushers, Irvin and Louise Thompson.

Letha is survived by her mother, Sonia Thompson of Idabel, OK; brother, David Love of California; sister, Carey Louise Thompson of Idabel, OK. her son, Thompson Cooke of Idabel, OK. She had a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Her vivacious personality, beautiful smile, and positive attitude will be truly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 22, 2023 at the Bypass Church of Christ with Jerry Falling officiating. Interment will follow at Denison Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the funeral home.
